The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a downward review of the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims nationwide.
The revision follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive in October—relayed through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia—ordering the Commission to reduce the previously announced fares. NAHCON had initially released the approved rates for the 2026 Hajj in September.
In an update posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the Commission revealed that pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, representing a reduction of ₦748,104.63 from the 2025 fare of ₦8,327,125.59. Those from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76, down by ₦760,915.83 from ₦8,457,685.59 in 2025. For the Southern Zone, the revised fare for 2026 is ₦7,991,141.76, representing a decrease of ₦792,943.83 from ₦8,784,085.59 last year.

NAHCON stated that the adjustment aims to make the holy pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise. The Commission also set December 5, 2025, as the new deadline for intending pilgrims to complete their payments.
“Intending pilgrims are advised to make full payments on or before the deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj,” the statement read.
