The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and outlined the steps candidates should follow to check their results online.
In a statement posted on its official X account, WAEC said candidates can access their results immediately after retrieving their result checker Serial Number and PIN.
How to check your 2026 WAEC result online
Step 1: Retrieve your serial number and PIN
Before checking your result, ensure you have your examination number, Serial Number and PIN.
If you do not have your Serial Number or PIN, follow these steps:
- Visit www.waec.org.
- Click on the “Serial Number and PIN” menu at the top of the page.
- Select the 2026 examination year.
- Enter your Examination Number and your National Identification Number (NIN). Ensure you use the same NIN provided during WAEC registration.
- Enter your email address and phone number to receive a One-Time Password (OTP).
- Input the OTP to retrieve your Serial Number and PIN.
WAEC also said candidates can download their WAEC ID cards on their mobile devices.
Step 2: Visit the WAEC result checker portal
Go to www.waecdirect.org using your phone, tablet or computer.
Step 3: Enter your examination number
Input your 10-digit examination number, which consists of:
- A 7-digit centre number; and
- A 3-digit candidate number.
For example: 4123456789.
Step 4: Select the examination year
Choose 2026 as your examination year.
Step 5: Select the examination type
Choose the appropriate examination type to ensure the correct result is displayed.
Step 6: Enter your serial number and PIN
Input the Serial Number and PIN you retrieved from the WAEC portal.
Step 7: Submit your details
Click the “Submit” button to view your result.
Once your result is displayed, WAEC advises candidates to print or save a copy for future reference.
