The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to have their O’Level results verified directly by the examination bodies that conducted their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin announced the development on Monday in a post on his X account.
Benjamin said the verification process would begin with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), while candidates would be able to initiate the upload of their O’Level results from home. The results would then be verified directly with the relevant examination bodies.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at making JAMB services easier, faster and more convenient for candidates.
“The initiative is part of the Board’s renewed commitment to making services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
“By using technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, JAMB is putting candidate ease of service delivery at the centre of its operations,” Benjamin said.
He added that the new system would also address some of the challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up documents, the submission of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in entering subjects and grades.
“Through the integration of JAMB’s eFacility platform with examination bodies, results can now be verified directly against the examination body’s records before being downloaded into the candidate’s profile,” he said.
How to verify O’level results
Candidates are required to complete the process in two stages.
First level: Verification of results
- Visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng.
- Enter your NIN and click “Verify NIN.”
- Select the required number of sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies, then click “Continue.”
- Enter your email address and GSM number and click “Pay Now.” You will be redirected to the payment gateway.
- Make payment using a debit card or bank transfer.
- After payment is completed, enter your examination details:
- Examination number
- Examination series
- Examination year
- Verify the result or results for the selected number of sittings and obtain your Verification Code.
Second level: Upload of O’level results
- Send “VERIFY” followed by your Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
- Your result will be uploaded, and you will receive a notification.
- Candidates with two sittings will be instructed to visit their profile on JAMB’s e-Facility platform.
- On the e-Facility dashboard, click “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
- Enter your Verification Code. Your two verified results will then be displayed.
- Select the required subjects, ensuring that:
- At least five subjects are selected.
- No more than nine subjects are selected.
- No subject is selected more than once.
- Click “Apply the O’Level Results.”
- Upon successful submission, you will receive a notification confirming the upload.
Benjamin also commended JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, for the initiative, describing it as part of efforts to make the board’s services more customer-focused and technology-driven.
“This initiative reflects the commitment of the sixth Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, to a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system,” Benjamin said.
He added that the board would continue to deploy technology and collaborate with examination and government agencies to make its services “simpler, safer and more accessible” to candidates.
