The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of 47 senatorial aspirants disqualified from participating in its Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The names of the affected aspirants were contained in a statement issued on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the APC, the screening exercise was conducted by designated committees in line with the party’s established guidelines and procedures.
Among the high-profile aspirants denied clearance is former senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Murray-Bruce. Another aspirant from the district, Benson Agadaga, was also excluded from the primary race.
Rivers West Senatorial District recorded one of the highest numbers of disqualified aspirants, with four names on the list. They include Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein, and Banigo Ipalibo.
Zamfara State also featured prominently, with seven aspirants from its Central, North, and West senatorial districts failing to secure clearance.
The ruling party, however, did not state the reasons for the disqualification of the affected aspirants.
