25-year-old female ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, and her accomplice rider arrested in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State.
Troops from the One Brigade of Operation Fansan Yanma have arrested 25-year-old Shamsiyya Ahadu, a suspected logistics supplier for terrorist groups operating in Zamfara State.

The arrest occurred on Saturday, December 28, after intelligence reports alerted authorities to her movements.

Ahadu was apprehended alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, at a checkpoint along the Kware to Badarawa road in Shinkafi Local Government Area. The duo was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines, intended for delivery to notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji’s camp.

In a statement released by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre for Operation Fansan Yanma, the military confirmed that the arrest followed a tip-off about the terrorists’ logistical operations in the area. In response, troops swiftly set up a roadblock, which led to the capture of the suspects.

“The suspects are currently undergoing investigation by the appropriate authorities,” Abdullahi said, adding that the military remains committed to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms within the region.

He also reiterated the importance of continued public cooperation, urging citizens to provide credible information to help locate and apprehend other wanted terrorists and their collaborators.

“The military greatly appreciates the ongoing support of the local communities in the Zone, which has been vital to the success of Operation Fansan Yanma,” Abdullahi concluded.
