The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced that an emergency meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) will hold on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The notice, issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and shared by the FCT minister’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, on X, stated that both meetings will take place at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
According to the announcement, the BoT meeting is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., while the NEC meeting will commence at 2:00 p.m. “Attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed,” the notice added.
This development comes days after The Telegraph reported that the PDP, during its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, expelled several high-profile members including Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu—over alleged anti-party activities.
The motion for their expulsion was moved by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, and seconded by Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga.
Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, subsequently put the motion to a voice vote, which delegates overwhelmingly supported, signalling the party’s resolve to clamp down on internal dissent and anti-party conduct.
