Tinubu unveils APC 2027 campaign council, names Yari DG, Uzodimma secretary

Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, President Bola Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, appointing former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Secretary.

The composition of the council was announced in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the campaign council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen.

According to the statement, Senator Yari’s appointment places him at the helm of the party’s campaign machinery, while Governor Uzodimma will oversee the council’s secretariat as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential election.

The APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, was appointed Deputy Secretary, while Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Assistant Secretary.

The campaign council will also be supported by a team of senior political advisers, including former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; veteran journalist and politician, Chief Segun Osoba; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

The statement further disclosed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the South and North.
