The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday inaugurated its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja as the party steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The unveiling ceremony took place in Jabi, Federal Capital Territory, shortly after an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Those in attendance included the NDC National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson; Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the National Assembly; and the party’s Rivers State governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, alongside other leaders and members.
The Telegraph gathered that the newly acquired facility would also serve as the party’s presidential campaign headquarters, providing a central base for coordinating its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
The development marks another step in the party’s efforts to strengthen its organisational structure and establish a permanent base for its national operations and campaign planning.
The NDC, which is positioning itself as an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is expected to use the facility to coordinate its political activities and presidential campaign across the country.
Congratulating party members and supporters on the development, Dickson described the new secretariat as a unifying home for the party.
He referred to the facility as the party’s “newly acquired Noah’s Ark”, adding that it would “be a befitting home for all.”
