Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-term partner, Georgina Rodríguez, have reportedly agreed to keep their pre-marital assets separate under the terms of a marriage contract signed shortly before their wedding.
The couple reportedly tied the knot in an intimate civil ceremony in Lisbon on Tuesday, with their children and four witnesses said to have attended the ceremony.
According to Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias, Ronaldo and Rodríguez signed the agreement on August 10, a day before their reported wedding, at a public notary’s office in Lisbon.
The arrangement reportedly provides for separate ownership of their assets, meaning properties and other possessions acquired before the marriage will remain individually owned.
Jornal de Notícias also reportedly published a copy of the couple’s marriage certificate, which contained details including Ronaldo’s full name, age and place of birth, as well as the names of his parents.
Rodríguez, 32, was listed as having been born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while Ronaldo, 41, was identified as a native of Madeira, Portugal.
The couple are also reportedly expected to retain their respective surnames after the marriage, with Rodríguez continuing to use her surname rather than adopting Ronaldo’s.
The reported civil ceremony was officiated by registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira, who travelled from Porto to Cascais for the occasion.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together for several years, with their relationship frequently attracting public attention due to the footballer’s global profile and considerable wealth.
The reported marriage contract provides a formal legal framework for the ownership and treatment of their assets, particularly in the event of separation or other changes in their marital circumstances.
