Sanwo-Olu, other govt officials take part in monthly sanitation exercise in Lagos

Sanwo-Olu and other government officials are observing the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Lagos on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The Governor of Lagos State and other senior government officials on Saturday participated in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the Ojuelegba area of the state.

Our correspondent, who monitored the exercise, observed that the governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, among other officials.

The exercise followed a public reminder issued by the state government earlier in the week ahead of the monthly sanitation routine.

In a statement on Wednesday, Wahab urged residents to clean their homes, drainages, markets, and public spaces to reduce the risk of flooding and prevent health hazards.

He said a cleaner and healthier Lagos remains a shared responsibility, stressing the importance of proper waste disposal and regular environmental maintenance.

Wahab added that compliance with sanitation guidelines is essential to mitigating flooding, reducing environmental risks, and safeguarding public health.
