Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko.
According to the statement, party members and supporters participated in an affirmation exercise conducted across all 57 wards in the senatorial district.
The process was held simultaneously across the wards, after which results were collated at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered for the final announcement.
The statement added that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside media representatives, monitored the exercise to ensure transparency and compliance with electoral guidelines.
Speaking after the collation, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation to party members for what she described as an overwhelming show of confidence and unity.
She said, “This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion, and development.”
She noted that the turnout across the 57 wards demonstrated strong commitment to democratic participation within the district.
“I am deeply humbled by the massive turnout across all 57 wards. This is not just about one individual; it is about our people coming together in unity to deepen democracy and build a stronger and more prosperous Kogi Central,” she added.
The senator reaffirmed her commitment to representing the interests of her constituents and maintaining close engagement with communities across the senatorial zone.
“I accept this responsibility with gratitude and renewed commitment. By the grace of God and with the continued support of our people, we will remain focused on delivering sustainable development, justice, and opportunities for everyone,” she said.
