Alex Iwobi
Alex Iwobi delivered a standout performance on Sunday as Fulham came from behind to defeat Liverpool 3–2 at Craven Cottage, denting the Reds’ Premier League title hopes.

The Nigerian midfielder was pivotal in Fulham’s remarkable first-half turnaround, scoring once and providing an assist as the hosts overturned an early deficit to take control of the match.

Liverpool struck first in the 14th minute when Alexis Mac Allister fired a powerful shot past Bernd Leno after being set up by Ryan Gravenberch. However, Fulham quickly responded. Just nine minutes later, Ryan Sessegnon calmly finished to equalize, bringing the score to 1–1.

The momentum shifted firmly in Fulham’s favor, and in the 32nd minute, Iwobi put his side ahead with a well-taken goal. Five minutes later, Iwobi turned provider, setting up Rodrigo Muniz for Fulham’s third, giving the hosts a 3–1 lead before halftime.

Liverpool fought back in the second half, and Luis Díaz pulled one back in the 72nd minute with a goal assisted by Conor Bradley, narrowing the score to 3–2. Despite their efforts, however, the Reds couldn’t find an equalizer.

Fulham held firm defensively, with Leno picking up a yellow card in the final moments as the Cottagers clung to their lead. Yellow cards were also issued to Sasa Lukić shortly after the restart and Emile Smith Rowe in the 86th minute.

The loss dealt a blow to Liverpool’s Premier League title aspirations, as they missed a crucial opportunity to move closer to the top before the season’s end.

For Fulham, the victory was a significant statement, bolstering their push for European football next season.
