Tinubu visits Enugu, inaugurates key state projects

President Bola Tinubu visited Enugu State on Saturday, marking his first official trip to the region since taking office on May 29, 2023.

During his visit to the Coal City, the Commander-in-Chief inaugurated several key projects initiated by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration. These included the launch of 30 “smart green” schools, rural roads, and 150 patrol vehicles equipped with AI-powered surveillance cameras.

Other notable projects commissioned included 30 completed Enugu Smart Green Schools, part of a larger initiative to build 260 such schools across the state’s 260 wards, and 60 fully equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, also part of the same statewide project.

Additionally, Tinubu inaugurated the Enugu International Conference Centre, a state-of-the-art multi-functional venue, and 90 urban roads completed in Enugu City. He also commissioned a new Command and Control Centre and the fleet of AI-enabled patrol vehicles aimed at enhancing security.

The President was accompanied by several prominent figures, including Abia State Governor Alex Otti, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of Works Dave Umahi.

However, Governors Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Charles Soludo of Anambra, and Francis Nwifiru of Ebonyi were conspicuously absent from the event. It remains unclear if they sent representatives in their place.
