Transfer: Osimhen won’t renew Napoli contract

Victor Osimhen

Authoritative transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Victor Osimhen is determined to leave Serie A champions Napoli and will not renew his contract.

Osimhen’s current contract will expire in June 2025.

The Nigeria international was in discussion with Napoli over a new two-year deal in the summer, but the relationship between him and the club deteriorated after the Partenopei posted a TikTok video mocking him for missing a penalty in a league match against Bologna in September.

Napoli later released a statement on the incident but didn’t apologise to Osimhen.

“For Victor Osimhen, it’s essential to clarify, as I have consistently mentioned since September, there’s no agreement between Napoli and Osimhen for a new contract,” Romano said on the Kick streaming platform.

“He’s only contracted till June 2025, and my sources are quite clear Osimhen is not inclined to sign a new deal at Napoli.

“That’s the current status as of today. Football is unpredictable, but the current stance appears firm—Osimhen won’t be renewing there.”

The 24-year-old has been linked to top Premier League clubs in England, including Chelsea and Arsenal.

The forward returned to action for Napoli last weekend after missing six games due to the injury he sustained on international duty in October.
