Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the two-time defending European champions, the Ligue 1 club announced on Friday.
The Spaniard’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but his new deal will keep him at PSG until 2030.
The announcement came ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Monaco at the Parc des Princes, where five players — Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo and Senny Mayulu — also signed contract extensions.
“They represent the present and the future of our club’s project,” PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi said in a statement.
“Together, we’re aiming to build for the long term, to remain true to our values, and to continue writing a story that our supporters can be proud of.”
Luis Enrique and the five Champions League winners received a raucous reception from the home crowd when the announcements were made. PSG, however, went on to lose 2-1 to Monaco, leaving them without a victory after three matches of the new Ligue 1 season.
“It is not the best moment to talk about this, but what I can say is that it is the first time in my career — and I am an old coach — that I have stayed more than three years at the same club,” the 56-year-old said after the match.
“I am more motivated now than I was in my first year here, which is bizarre for me. I am very happy and I hope to be up to the job.”
The former Barcelona and Spain coach took charge of PSG ahead of the 2023/24 season, with the task of delivering the club’s long-awaited maiden European Cup.
He achieved that in spectacular fashion with a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the 2025 Champions League final. PSG then successfully defended their title by beating Arsenal on penalties in May.
Under Luis Enrique, PSG have also won three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups since he replaced Christophe Galtier.
Ruiz, a Spanish World Cup winner, has extended his contract until the end of next season, with an option for an additional year.
Portugal midfielder Neves, Brazilian defender Beraldo, Ecuadorian centre-back Pacho and French youngster Mayulu have all signed contracts running until 2031.
