Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Sunday paid a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, alongside former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Makinde disclosed the visit in a post on his verified X account, where he shared photographs from the meeting.
According to the governor, their discussions centred on key national issues ahead of the next general election.
“Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, in Abeokuta. Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election,” Makinde wrote.
He added, “We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”
The meeting comes amid increasing political consultations and realignments ahead of the 2027 general election, as prominent political figures across party lines continue to hold strategic engagements over the country’s political future.
