Paris Saint-Germain and France forward Ousmane Dembélé has been named the 2025 FIFA The Best Men’s Player, capping an extraordinary season with the French club. The award was presented at a ceremony in Qatar on Tuesday, where Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati also collected the women’s prize.

FIFA recognised Dembélé for his pivotal role in PSG’s historic season, which included the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League title. The 28-year-old scored eight goals and provided six assists during the European campaign, helping PSG secure the prestigious trophy.

Dembélé’s form was equally decisive in domestic competitions, as PSG completed a treble by winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions. He was named MVP of both the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1, and finished as joint-top scorer in the French league.

On the international stage, Dembélé helped France secure third place in the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League and was part of the squad that reached the final of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, where PSG finished as runners-up.

Individually, Dembélé also received several honours, including UEFA Champions League Player of the Season, a spot in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season, Ligue 1 Player of the Year, and inclusion in the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year. He also won the Ballon d’Or in September, rewarding his exceptional contributions to PSG’s historic campaign.

The shortlist for The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award was drawn up by a panel of experts, based on performances from August 11, 2024, to August 2, 2025. Votes were cast by men’s national team coaches, captains, journalists, and fans, each accounting for 25% of the total, with points awarded for first, second, and third-place selections. In the event of a tie, the player with the most first-choice votes from national team captains is declared the winner.

Dembélé’s remarkable performances across club and country earned him the highest total points, making him the deserving recipient of the 2025 FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award.
