Nigeria’s GDP rises by 3.98% in Q3 2025 — NBS

Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.98 percent year-on-year in real terms in the third quarter of 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday.

According to the latest GDP report, the Q3 2025 growth rate outperformed the 3.86 percent recorded in the same period of 2024.

The NBS said the agriculture sector expanded by 3.79 percent, a notable rise from 2.55 percent in Q3 2024.

The industry sector also strengthened, posting 3.77 percent growth compared to 2.78 percent a year earlier. Meanwhile, the services sector grew by 4.15 percent, slightly lower than the 4.97 percent recorded in Q3 2024 but remained the economy’s dominant contributor.

The report shows that the services sector accounted for 53.02 percent of total GDP in Q3 2025, up from 52.93 percent in the corresponding quarter of 2024.

In nominal terms, Nigeria’s aggregate GDP stood at N113.58 trillion, higher than the N96.16 trillion recorded in Q3 2024, representing a year-on-year nominal growth rate of 18.12 percent, the bureau added.
