Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spectacular stoppage-time bicycle kick to seal Al Nassr’s 4–1 win over Al Khaleej in their Saudi Pro League clash on Sunday night at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.
Al Nassr controlled the match from the outset, with João Félix heavily involved. After having two goals disallowed, the Portuguese forward finally opened the scoring in the 39th minute, slotting a low cross into the bottom-right corner.
Just three minutes later, Félix pressed high to win possession and teed up Wesley, who curled a brilliant shot into the top corner to make it 2–0 at the break.
Al Khaleej started the second half with urgency and pulled one back in the 47th minute through Hawsawi, who fired a powerful strike into the top corner.
But Al Nassr soon reasserted their dominance. Sadio Mané restored the two-goal cushion in the 77th minute, reacting quickest to a loose ball and curling home a precise first-time finish.
Al Khaleej’s hopes faded completely when Kourbeli was sent off in the 90th minute for stamping on Al Hassan.
Ronaldo, who had earlier been denied repeatedly by goalkeeper Moris and saw another effort ruled out for offside, finally got his goal in added time.
In the 90+6th minute, he connected acrobatically with a floated cross from Boushal, smashing a bicycle kick beyond Moris to put the result beyond doubt.
The 40-year-old’s strike was his 954th career goal and his 10th in nine league appearances this season.
The win extends Al Nassr’s impressive run to nine straight victories, lifting them to 27 points in the Saudi Pro League.
