The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially announced the approved fares for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
In a statement signed by the management, NAHCON said the announcement followed extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership, and received approval from the Federal Government.
This announcement comes shortly after a delegation led by NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Usman, traveled to Saudi Arabia to inspect facilities, negotiate service agreements, and sign contracts with key service providers ahead of the upcoming pilgrimage.
Earlier in the year, NAHCON had released a tentative fare of N8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj, clarifying that the amount was provisional and subject to adjustment following negotiations and federal approval.
For reference, the 2025 Hajj fares were set at N8.31 million for the Maiduguri-Yola Zone, N8.44 million for other northern states, and N8.76 million for southern states.
However, the Commission announced that the 2026 fares have been reduced by approximately N200,000 across all categories.
According to the statement: “The 2026 Hajj fares are as follows: Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba) pilgrims will pay N8,318,337; other Northern States N8,244,814; and Southern States N8,561,014.”
“This represents an average reduction of two hundred thousand naira per pilgrim compared to last year,” the statement added.
NAHCON also revealed that its delegation in Saudi Arabia has finalized agreements with major service providers.
“The delegation signed contracts with the 2026 Hajj Service Provider Company (Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya) and the Transportation Company (Daleel Al-Ma’aleem),” the Commission confirmed.
Chairman Professor Usman emphasized the importance of timely payments and urged intending pilgrims to complete all payments by December 31, 2025.
