Sunday night was filled with emotions in the Big Brother Naija Season 10 house as two housemates, Danboskid and Ibifubara, were evicted during the live Week 2 eviction show. The night took an even more somber turn with the announcement of the death of a production crew member, Ayotunde Elegbede.
The show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, brought some tense moments to the fore when he asked Thelma about her thoughts on fellow housemate Isabella. Thelma responded candidly, stating she believed Isabella was “not her brother’s keeper,” referencing incidents from the recent Head of House challenge.
Earlier in the show, Big Brother praised the housemates for their performance in the wager task and their overall participation in house activities. Rooboy was voted the Most Influential Housemate of the Week, with Big Brother teasing that his reward would be revealed in real-time.
The eviction segment began with Danboskid, who became the first housemate to leave the house that night. He shared an emotional farewell with close ally Zita, receiving a warm hug before the housemates honored him with “three gbosa for Danboskid.”
On stage with Ebuka, Danboskid expressed shock at his eviction but acknowledged the reality of the game. He also addressed a controversial earlier comment about women, explaining that he rarely approaches women unless they are truly exceptional, adding that he finds Zita “gorgeous.” He shared his aspirations to pursue a Nollywood career and to explore a relationship with Zita outside the house.
The second eviction saw 28-year-old Ibifubara take her exit. Reflecting on her time in the house, she admitted to feeling isolated during the week due to shifting friendship dynamics. She also revealed being drawn to Otega and Bright Morgan but chose not to act on her feelings, saying “it wasn’t the right time.” The therapist and entrepreneur shared plans to launch a podcast and further develop the creative direction of her hair brand.
Denari narrowly escaped eviction, falling into the bottom three according to the voting chart revealed later.
In a heartfelt moment, Ebuka closed the show by announcing the passing of Ayotunde Elegbede, a beloved member of the Big Brother Naija production crew. The news was confirmed by his family, and Ebuka expressed condolences on behalf of the show’s team.
