The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released through the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Minister Tunji-Ojo extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, both in Nigeria and across the diaspora, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. He urged Muslims to continue embodying the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
He also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country.
Reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to national development, the Minister stated that the people-centered reforms and initiatives being implemented under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are designed to steer Nigeria back onto the path of progress.
As he wished the Muslim faithful a joyful and blessed Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister called on all Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in building a stronger, more prosperous nation.
