Union Berlin have dismissed head coach Bo Svensson after just six months in charge, the Bundesliga club announced on Friday.

The 45-year-old Danish coach took over in July, following Union’s narrow escape from relegation last season. However, with the club currently sitting 12th in the Bundesliga—seven points clear of the relegation play-off spot—Svensson has been let go.

Union’s managing director, Horst Heldt, explained the decision, saying, “We are convinced that a significant change is necessary to reverse the trend.”
