Robert Lewandowski has confirmed he will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season, bringing an end to a four-year spell at the club when his contract expires this summer.

The 37-year-old striker has scored 119 goals in 191 appearances in all competitions since joining from Bayern Munich in 2022, playing a key role in Barcelona’s domestic resurgence.

During his time in Spain, Lewandowski helped the club win three La Liga titles, including this season’s championship, as well as the Copa del Rey in 2025.

“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on,” Lewandowski wrote on Instagram.

“I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. Four seasons, three championships. Barca is back where it belongs.”

The Polish forward, who joined Barcelona during a period of financial and sporting difficulty, said he would always cherish his time at the club and the support of the fans.

“I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on earth,” he added.

Lewandowski is set to play his final match at Camp Nou on Sunday against Real Betis, with head coach Hansi Flick confirming he will start the game.

“He spoke with the team, said goodbye, and said it was a great time for him here in Barcelona,” Flick said.

The Barcelona coach, who previously worked with Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, praised the striker’s professionalism and consistency.

“For me it’s a privilege to work with him. We won many titles together. He gave everything every day to stay at the highest level,” Flick said.

Barcelona also paid tribute on social media, describing him as a player who “arrived as a star, leaves as a legend.”

Lewandowski, one of the most prolific strikers of his generation, finished as La Liga’s top scorer in his debut season under Xavi Hernández. This season, he has scored 18 goals in 44 appearances as he shared attacking duties under Flick.

He did not reveal his next destination, although reports have linked him with moves to Saudi Arabia and the United States.
