President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, for a working visit to inaugurate projects executed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration and attend a political rally organised by the All Progressives Congress.
The President departed Abuja on Friday morning for a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, marking his first major outing in the South-South since the APC began mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu was received at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, by Governor Eno, top government officials, APC leaders and a large crowd of supporters who gathered at the airport to welcome him.
During the visit, the President is scheduled to inaugurate several projects completed by the Eno administration, including the new international terminal building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, all located within the Victor Attah International Airport complex.
Other projects slated for inauguration include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President is also expected to inaugurate the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Following the project inaugurations, Tinubu is expected to proceed to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, where he will attend an APC political rally.
