The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has introduced QR codes to help eligible voters locate designated Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection centres ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Commission said voters could scan the codes available on its official website and social media platforms to identify the centres where they are expected to collect their PVCs.

Speaking at a press conference at INEC’s Lagos headquarters, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Ayobami Salami, urged eligible voters to collect their cards, verify their registration details and obtain election-related information from official sources.

Salami emphasised the importance of voter participation as the Commission intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.

INEC said preparations were also progressing in other key operational areas, including the procurement and testing of voter accreditation devices, improvements to election result transmission systems, logistics planning, and the recruitment and training of election personnel.

The Commission added that it was strengthening its operational readiness to ensure an efficient and credible electoral process.

The introduction of the QR codes forms part of INEC Lagos’s efforts to improve access to voter information, simplify the PVC collection process and encourage eligible voters to confirm their registration details and obtain their cards before election day.
