Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance to raise ₦30 million for three urgent life-saving surgeries, revealing that she has been hospitalised for the past three weeks and can no longer afford the cost of her treatment.

Nwosu made the appeal in an emotional video posted on her Instagram page on Thursday, where she pleaded with fans, colleagues and well-wishers not to abandon her as she battles an undisclosed illness.

“My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalised now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control,” she said.

A visibly emotional Nwosu added, “I need your help. Don’t let me die. I know that you people never forsake me… I’m begging you, my fans and family, don’t let me die because I am going through a lot, as in pain.”

The actress disclosed that she requires three surgeries and appealed to those willing to support her treatment to contact her management.

“Please don’t let me die. If there’s anything you want to do for me, please contact my management. They’ll be there for you. Thank you. God bless you,” she said.

In the caption accompanying the video, Nwosu admitted that asking for help publicly was difficult but said the severity of her condition left her with no alternative.

“My fans, friends, family and colleagues, this was really hard for me to do, but I can’t keep quiet anymore. I need urgent life-saving surgeries. Please don’t scroll past. Share this post and support if you can,” she wrote.

She disclosed that the surgeries would cost ₦30 million and urged prospective donors to contact her legal representative or management for details.

Nwosu concluded her appeal with a prayer for her supporters, saying, “God bless you and may you and yours never experience this affliction.”
