President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja following the Eid-el-Kabir holiday spent in Lagos, during which he engaged in a series of political, governmental and national activities.

The President’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 5:17 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a statement by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga.

He was received on arrival by senior government officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; and other top security and government representatives.

During the holiday period, President Tinubu received a series of high-profile visitors at his Lagos residence, including Vice President Kashim Shettima; Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other members of the National Assembly leadership; as well as delegations from various political and stakeholder groups.

Among the visitors were members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum led by its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Oyo State, including its governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli; and APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State.

On Monday, the President attended the International Fleet Review at the Eko Atlantic City waterfront, part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy.

At the event, he commissioned three naval vessels—NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara—as part of efforts to strengthen maritime security and naval capacity.

Earlier, President Tinubu also hosted President Patrice Talon of the Republic of Benin in Lagos, in a meeting that reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to regional cooperation, trade and diplomatic ties.

Before the Eid-el-Kabir break, the President had also visited Lagos to participate in the All Progressives Congress primaries, where candidates for various elective positions were selected. He was later endorsed by party stakeholders as the APC’s standard-bearer for the 2027 presidential election.
