Governor Dauda Lawal has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Zamfara State.
Lawal secured the ticket through a consensus arrangement adopted by the party for its governorship primary in the state.
Party members and supporters gathered across various wards to endorse the governor as the APC’s flagbearer for the forthcoming election.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Lawal thanked party members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to consolidate on ongoing developmental projects aimed at improving the lives of residents across Zamfara State.
His emergence came on the same day that Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, also secured the APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 election.
Both governors are seeking re-election for a second term on the platform of the APC.
