Benue governor dissolves Lobi Stars board, management

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has approved the immediate dissolution of the board and management of the state-owned Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the decision is part of the government’s efforts to reposition the club for greater efficiency, accountability, and improved performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and other competitions.

“The governor further directed that all members of the dissolved management should hand over all official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Creativity with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.

Governor Alia thanked the outgoing management for their contributions to the club and the state, assuring that a new leadership structure will soon be announced to steer Lobi Stars into its next phase of growth and competitiveness.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to sports development as a key platform for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social cohesion in Benue State.
