Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to terms for a potential exhibition fight set for spring 2026, according to a statement released Thursday by promoter CSI Sports.
While no exact date or venue has been confirmed, CSI said the long-rumored showdown between the former heavyweight champion and the undefeated multi-division titlist is now officially in the works.
Tyson, 59, compiled a professional record of 50 wins (44 by knockout) and 7 losses during a storied career that saw him become the most feared heavyweight of his era. He last appeared in the ring in November 2024, suffering a one-sided defeat to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in an exhibition bout in Arlington, Texas. Despite his performance, the event drew a live crowd of approximately 70,000 and attracted millions of viewers worldwide.
Mayweather, 48, retired from professional boxing in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, having claimed world titles in five weight divisions. Since retirement, he has remained active through a series of high-profile exhibitions, most recently securing a win over John Gotti III in Mexico in August 2024.
In a statement released through CSI, Tyson expressed surprise that the fight materialized.
“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, ‘No way this happens,’” Tyson said. “But Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable—and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”
If confirmed, the bout will mark one of the most anticipated—and unconventional—exhibition matchups in recent boxing history, pairing a heavyweight icon with an undefeated welterweight master in what is sure to ignite debate and draw global attention.
