Dangote refinery slashes ex-depot petrol price by ₦30

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a ₦30 reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), bringing the price down from ₦850 to ₦820 per litre.

The adjustment, which took effect on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, was disclosed in a statement signed by the company’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina.

According to the statement, the price cut reflects the refinery’s commitment to supporting national development and ensuring a steady, uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the country.

“In line with our dedication to operational excellence and sustainable energy solutions, Dangote Petroleum Refinery will commence the phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel distribution across Nigeria, effective August 15, 2025,” the statement added.

The introduction of CNG-powered trucks is expected to enhance fuel distribution efficiency while promoting cleaner energy alternatives in line with global environmental standards.
