Lagos, Nigeria, sparkled with glamour and anticipation on May 10, 2025, as the 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) lit up the Eko Hotel and Suites.
The star-studded night celebrated the richness of African storytelling, with screen icons like Femi Adebayo, Chioma Chukwuka, Mercy Aigbe, and Gabriel Afolayan earning standing ovations for their standout performances.
Lisabi: The Uprising and Seven Doors emerged as the evening’s biggest winners, sweeping multiple categories. Meanwhile, Suspicion, The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos, and Christmas in Lagos captured both hearts and critical acclaim, reflecting a year defined by bold narratives and technical excellence.
Soulful performances by Johnny Drille and Kunmie added emotional depth to the ceremony, which recognized talent across 28 categories, blending expert jury selections with audience votes.
