Tony Elumelu donates ₦25bn to Lagos food security initiative

Business mogul Tony Elumelu has pledged ₦25 billion to support Lagos State’s food security efforts.

He made the announcement on Wednesday during the launch of the Produce for Lagos Programme, an initiative led by the Lagos Food Systems Infrastructure Company.

“We are proud to back this initiative with ₦25 billion,” Elumelu said. “In a few years, it will play a crucial role in addressing youth unemployment.”

Elumelu, chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), added, “Joblessness among our young people is a major challenge. With abundant arable land, they should not be left without work.”
