Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jandor made the announcement during a press conference in Lagos on Monday, roughly two weeks after his departure from the PDP. He explained that his decision was driven by the APC’s commitment to winning elections, regardless of who is on the ballot.
“We have decided to return to the All Progressives Congress,” Jandor stated.
He further clarified, “Before you remind me of the reasons why I left the APC, let me share a Yoruba adage: ‘If a woman has not tried two husbands, she will not know which one is better.’”
Jandor had previously left the PDP on March 3, 2025, citing what he described as the anti-party activities of some Lagos PDP leaders. At the time, he expressed his frustration with the lack of action from the national party leadership, despite waiting for two years to see if the constitution would be enforced regarding those engaging in anti-party activities.
“We waited patiently to see if the national party would apply sanctions according to its constitution. Instead, the person involved was appointed Vice Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee,” he explained in his resignation from the PDP.
Following his announcement, Jandor held meetings with key political figures, including President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and other prominent leaders in the country.
Jandor’s political journey began with the APC before he left the party in 2022 to form the Lagos4Lagos Movement, a faction within the ruling party. He later joined the PDP ahead of the 2023 elections and became its governorship candidate in Lagos. However, he lost to the APC’s Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
