Nollywood actress Chika Ike has dismissed rumors suggesting that Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North senatorial district, is the father of her child.
“Ned is not the father of my child, and no matter what names or speculations you come up with next, I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife! Polygamy is simply not for me,” Ike posted on her Facebook account on Tuesday.
The rumors surrounding the identity of the father of Ike’s child have gained traction in recent weeks, especially after Regina Daniels, Nwoko’s wife, deactivated her Instagram account, sparking speculation of marital issues.
In response to these claims, Nwoko also released a statement denying any involvement with the actress’s pregnancy.
“FALSE! FALSE! FALSE! Over the years, there have been numerous falsehoods spread about me, but I’ve always treated them as mere rumors that don’t deserve a response. This time, however, it’s different; this is about my CHILD…” the senator stated.
Despite the speculation, Ike made it clear that prying into her personal life would be futile.
“I’ve been pregnant for months now, and no one even had an inkling until I made the announcement. And now you think you can figure out who the father is or what’s going on in my life? It’s laughable and clueless!” she wrote.
“Keep spreading your false stories, I’m not bothered. I know it comes with the territory of my career. But the only reason I’m addressing this particular rumor is because it concerns my child.”
Ike concluded, emphasizing her desire for privacy: “My peace is in my privacy, and no one can disturb me. Right now, I’m savoring the joy of my pregnancy, and that’s all that matters to me.”
