Diaz opened the scoring early in the first half, marking his 13th goal of the season after a 10-game dry spell. Matheus Cunha pulled one back for Wolves in the second half, but despite a nervy finish, Liverpool held on for the win, securing a valuable three points.

Despite being charged with abusive behavior towards referee Michael Oliver after the Merseyside derby, Liverpool boss Arne Slot was in the dugout for this match. The late goal set up a tense finish, with Liverpool struggling to regain their earlier momentum. However, they held on to secure a vital three points, making it four wins in their last five league games.
