Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been elected as the 1st Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B Zone.
The election was held on Friday in Niamey, Niger Republic, on the sidelines of this year’s CAF African Schools Football Championship, which also serves as the WAFU B qualifying tournament.
Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, was elected as the President of the WAFU B Zone, while Oumarou Sawadogo, President of the Burkinabe Football Federation, was named 2nd Vice President.
The WAFU B Zone comprises seven countries: Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Gusau, who assumed the presidency of the NFF in September 2022, has held several prominent positions in African football, including serving on the Organising Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and as a senior security officer for both FIFA and CAF.
