The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported the successful elimination of several bandits, including key associates of notorious leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, following a series of targeted airstrikes in Zamfara State.
In a statement released by the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, it was revealed that the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma conducted additional air interdiction missions on Friday, November 15. These strikes were aimed at a large gathering of bandits in Babban Kauye, a village in Tsafe Local Government Area, located in the north-western part of the country.
Akinboyewa explained that intelligence sources had intercepted information about the bandits’ plans to launch coordinated attacks on both military personnel and civilians along the Tsafe axis. “Acting on credible intelligence, the NAF swiftly carried out a series of precise airstrikes, causing significant casualties among the criminal elements,” he said.
Ground reports confirmed the successful elimination of numerous high-ranking members of the bandit groups, severely disrupting their operations and undermining their capacity to launch further attacks.
Tsafe Local Government Area has long been a hotspot for banditry, with factions loyal to Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule responsible for a spate of violent assaults targeting local communities, security forces, and critical infrastructure.
According to Akinboyewa, remote villages like Babban Kauye have been used by these terrorist groups as strategic safe havens, from which they plan and execute their criminal activities. The NAF’s continued air operations in the region are seen as a critical effort to dismantle the criminal networks that have plagued the area for years. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported the successful elimination of several bandits, including key associates of notorious leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, following a series of targeted airstrikes in Zamfara State.
