UNILORIN expels seven final-year students, others for misconduct

The management of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday, announced the expulsion of 14 students, including seven final-year students, for alleged misconduct and involvement in examination malpractices.

The university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, disclosed this in the university’s weekly buletin released on Monday.

“The Vice Chancellor’s approval of their expulsion was sequel to the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 219th meeting held on Wednesday and Thursday, January 10 and 11, 2024, respectively,” the buletin stated.

Among those expelled were seven final-year students in various departments, such as Agriculture/Aquaculture and Fisheries; Agriculture/Agricultural Extension and Rural Development; and CIS/Library and Information Science department.

Some of the students were also from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology/Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering; Faculty of Life Science; Faculty of Education; and Faculty of Arts, Linguistics and Nigerian Languages.
