Ex-Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has revealed his plans to return to professional football as a coach.
Pique made this known on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
Recall the 36-year old announced his retirement from professional football in January 2023.
In a tweet, the 2010 World-Cup winner expressed his desire to return to football in a coaching role.
“After a lot of thought this new year, I’ve decided that I want to return to the sport I miss so much. This time, not as a player, but stepping into coaching. I will share more details at the end of the week,” Piqué told his followers.
During his illustrious playing career, Pique made 616 appearances for Barcelona, winning La Liga nine times, the Copa del Rey seven times, the FIFA Club World Cup three times, and the UEFA Champions
League three times, one of which was with Manchester United.
With United, he also claimed the Premier League and the League Cup, along with numerous Spanish, English, and European Super Cups.
Pique was part of the Spain national team that won the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship, also winning the U19 European Championship earlier in his career.
