Aston Villa have signed Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth £47 million ($63 million), the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.
Mbaye, 18, made 31 appearances for PSG in all competitions last season as the French giants won the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 titles.
The France-born winger also featured four times for Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring against France to become the youngest African player to find the net in the men’s tournament.
Mbaye has earned 15 caps for Senegal since making his PSG first-team debut at the age of 16.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain,” Villa said in a statement.
“The Senegal international, a bright and exciting young prospect who scored for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, joins on a permanent transfer.”
Mbaye is the latest addition to an Aston Villa squad undergoing significant changes following a turbulent summer at the club.
Villa ended a 30-year wait for silverware last season by winning the Europa League but have since parted ways with several key players, including Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa.
Manager Unai Emery has moved to reshape the squad with the arrivals of Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson.
