National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, on Thursday met with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Abuja as consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.
Dickson, a former Bayelsa State governor, disclosed the meeting in a post on his verified X handle, saying the discussions focused on issues concerning the party and the country.
He said the meeting was part of ongoing consultations aimed at reaching and finalising key decisions, particularly ahead of the planned unveiling of the party’s Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.
Dickson also called on party stakeholders, aspirants and members to unite, close ranks and work collectively to secure victory for the party’s candidates at all levels.
“Today, I met with our party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and the running mate, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside the National Chairman and other party leaders.
“We met two days ago, and we met again today to further deliberate and finalise decisions, particularly as we prepare for the unveiling of our party’s Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
The latest meeting comes as the NDC intensifies internal consultations and preparations for the 2027 polls, with party leaders seeking to consolidate their structure and coordinate their campaign ahead of the election.
