Real Madrid have announced the signing of 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly worth €140 million ($161 million), including add-ons, according to Spanish media.
The Spanish giants confirmed on Thursday that an agreement had been reached with the Bundesliga club for Diomande, who has signed a seven-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2033.
“Moving to Real Madrid is a childhood dream come true for me,” Diomande said in a statement released by Leipzig.
The teenager expressed his gratitude to the German club for believing in him and providing the platform to compete at the highest level.
Real Madrid did not disclose the transfer fee but reportedly beat competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool to secure Diomande’s signature. PSG withdrew from the race over concerns about the valuation, while Liverpool reportedly had a bid rejected in June.
Diomande joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganés in 2025 and enjoyed a breakthrough debut season in the Bundesliga, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists. His performances earned him the Bundesliga Young Player of the Season award.
The winger also represented Côte d’Ivoire at the World Cup, further enhancing his reputation as one of football’s most promising young talents.
Diomande becomes Real Madrid’s sixth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Espi.
The move comes as Madrid continue to rebuild their squad after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy. The club recently appointed Portuguese coach José Mourinho for a second spell, replacing Álvaro Arbeloa, and have also been linked with Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri.
