Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has nominated eight commissioner-designates as part of efforts to strengthen his administration during the remaining months of his tenure.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, announced the nominations on Wednesday while reading the governor’s letter during plenary in Lafia.
The nominees are Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo (Wamba), Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed (Lafia), Mohammed Baba Shehu (Keffi), Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye (Obi), Adamu Rebecca Kpadji (Wamba), Nawani Aboki (Doma), Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim, FCNA (Nasarawa), and Ashefo Daniel Paul (Lafia).
The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to notify the nominees to submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae and appear before the lawmakers for screening on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The nominations come about two weeks after the state government announced a minor cabinet reshuffle involving six commissioners as part of efforts to reposition the administration and accelerate the implementation of its remaining programmes before the end of the tenure.
Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Magaji (SAN), announced the cabinet changes on July 22 while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting in Lafia.
Magaji said the affected commissioners had been asked to step aside as part of the restructuring exercise.
The affected portfolios included the ministries of Works; Women Affairs; Information; Lands; Science and Technology; and Security and Other Sundry Matters.
