Veteran Nigerian actor and musician, Harry B Anyanwu, has appealed to Nollywood actors and members of the public to support veteran actress Maureen Okpoko, who is reportedly battling vision loss.
In a video that surfaced on X on Monday, Anyanwu said Okpoko requires financial assistance to access medical treatment that could help restore her sight.
Speaking from Enugu State, where he said he was with the actress, Anyanwu urged colleagues in the Nigerian film industry and well-meaning Nigerians to rally around her.
“I am right here in Enugu with my sister of inestimable value, Maureen Okpoko. Nollywood, let’s reach out to her and support her. She’s blind, but she can restore her sight,” he said.
He appealed to actors, actresses and the general public to contribute towards the veteran actress’ medical expenses, expressing optimism that timely intervention could help her regain her vision.
Anyanwu said collective support would not only give Okpoko access to the treatment she needs but also improve her overall well-being.
