Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has graduated with a First Class honours degree in Law.

The actor announced the achievement in a post shared on Instagram on Friday after completing his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at Wisconsin International University College.

Reflecting on the milestone, Vicker described the First Class distinction as a testament to academic excellence, discipline, strong work ethic, and sound analytical and critical-thinking skills.

“A First Class Honours in LLB doesn’t automatically make me a better lawyer, but what it does mean is: Academic Excellence, Strong Discipline & Work Ethic, Analytical & Critical Thinking Skills, Prestige & Recognition, and Opportunities,” he wrote.

However, the actor emphasised that academic success alone does not guarantee excellence in legal practice.

According to him, advocacy skills, emotional intelligence, practical courtroom or advisory experience, integrity and continuous learning are equally essential to building a successful legal career.

“Success in the profession depends on advocacy skills, emotional intelligence, and practical courtroom or advisory experience, character and integrity, and continuous learning,” he said.

Vicker added that while a First Class degree provides a strong academic foundation, becoming an accomplished lawyer requires sustained practice, mentorship and good character.

“First Class Honours is proof of academic mastery, not professional mastery. It’s a strong foundation, but becoming a great lawyer requires practice, mentorship, and character,” he added.
