Ghana have sacked head coach Otto Addo, just hours after a 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany and little more than 70 days before the World Cup.

The Black Stars lost in Stuttgart on Monday, with the hosts snatching a late winner through Deniz Undav.

The result marked a fourth consecutive defeat for Addo’s side, coming days after a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria.

“The association sincerely thanks Otto Addo for his contribution to the team and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours,” the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said in a statement.

The GFA added that it would “communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”

Addo, 50, had been in charge since March 2024.

Ghana are drawn alongside England, Croatia and Panama for the World Cup in North America later this year.
