The new chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Aminu Yusuf, has been officially sworn in by President Bola Tinubu, alongside two newly appointed commissioners of the commission.
The brief ceremony, held as part of the first segment of the Federal Executive Council meeting, was witnessed by members of the council.
Yusuf, from Niger State, was confirmed by the Senate on October 22, 2025, as NPC Chairman. Joseph Haruna Kigbu of Nasarawa State and Tonga Betara Bularafa of Yobe State were also confirmed as commissioners.
In addition to the NPC appointments, five permanent secretaries were sworn in during the same ceremony.
Earlier in October, the Council of State approved Yusuf’s appointment as chairman of the NPC. He succeeds Nasir Isa Kwara, who had served in the role since 2020.
