Regina Daniels’ brother charged with conspiracy, assault, theft – Police

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has charged Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, noting that the action followed a petition received by the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.

According to Adeh, “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.”

She said Ojeogwu failed to honour several police invitations before being arrested in Lagos and transported to Abuja for investigation.

“Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr. Ojeogwu by the Metro Area Command for questioning, which were not honoured. He was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” Adeh said.

The police spokesperson added that after the investigation was concluded, Ojeogwu was arraigned before a competent court in Abuja on November 6, 2025.

“Upon conclusion of investigations, the suspect was on the 6th of November 2025 charged in court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft. He has been remanded by the court pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions,” Adeh stated.

She reaffirmed the command’s commitment to professionalism and due process, saying, “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.”

The development comes amid rising family tensions involving Regina Daniels, who recently appeared in a viral video weeping uncontrollably over her brother’s detention. In the clip, the actress repeatedly said, “I will go back,” while expressing deep pain over her family’s struggles.

Her emotional outburst followed reports of alleged marital troubles with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she had accused of domestic violence in a previous social media post.

Nwoko, however, denied the allegations, attributing his wife’s behaviour to alleged drug and alcohol abuse. He claimed that Regina’s “current battle with substance abuse” had strained their marriage and insisted she undergo rehabilitation.

Amid the controversy, Regina announced that her estranged parents had reconciled after years of separation, saying their reunion came in the wake of her personal and family crises, particularly her brother’s arrest.
